Zhushayu pu 硃砂魚譜

Zhushayu pu 硃砂魚譜 (also written 朱砂魚譜) is a book on goldfish written during the late Ming period 明 (1368-1644) by Zhang Qiande 張謙德 (1577-1643), courtesy name Shuyi 叔益, Chou 丑 or Qingfu 青父, style Mi'an 米庵, from Kunshan 崑山, Jiangsu.

His brief book was finished in 1596 and is divided into two chapters. The first part contains descriptions of various kinds of goldfish, based on ten criteria of analysis. The second part follows the same pattern and recommends ten points for raising and reproduction.

Zhang's book is a detailed instruction for aficionados and provides very practical information for the breeding of excellent, beautiful animals with various colouring, for instance, a white body and just red marks on the head, bicoloured animals with red front and white back or red left side and white ride side, or types with different shadings of red, namely cinnabar, chrysanthemum, cherry blossoms, amber, gold, or silver.
