Zhiguan fenji 職官分紀 "Separate records for the state offices" is an encyclopaedia of state offices compiled during the Song period 宋 (960-1279) by Sun Fengji 孫逢吉 (1135-1199), courtesy name Congzhi 從之, from Longquan 龍泉 near Jizhou吉州, Jiangxi. (today's Suichuan 遂川).
The book of 50 juan length lists the state offices and the responsibilities of each official through the ages and down to the Yuanyou reign-period 元祐 (1086-1093), always in comparison to the putative system of the early Zhou period 周 (11th cent.-221 BCE) as allegedly presented in the Confucian Classic Zhouli 周禮. It also provides comprehensive information about the occupants of a vast amount of official positions and provides commentaries to the sources quoted. No less than 320 books served as source for the compilation. Interestingly enough, Sun Fengji also quotes from apocryphal literature from the Han period 漢 (206 BCE-220 CE) which is historically not very reliable.
The Zhiguan fenji is included in the series Siku quanshu 四庫全書. It was reprinted in 1935 by the Shanghai Shangwu Press 上海商務印書館 in the series Siku quanshu zhenben chuji 四庫全書珍本初集. It was also reprinted in 1988 by the Zhonghua Shuju Press 中華書局.
